The program which is proudly supported by Multicultural NSW, aims to tackle hate, racism, and violence within schools and the wider community through an extensive leadership development session.

The program was initially set up to run within the community, but has since moved into the school classrooms after several schools reached out to the GIANTS requesting the program be brought to their school.

Led by GIANTS AFL player Leek Aleer, Leek shared his experiences and journey from being a young boy in South Sudan, to coming to a new country and becoming an AFL player.

Close to 250 students from year’s seven and eight went through the program at Sir Joseph Banks.

Having been involved in a few of these day’s now, Aleer was proud to see so many kids taking something out of the day.

“The Learn with Leek program is a one that teaches kids about racism and bullying,” Aleer said.

“It’s to help them and motivate them into becoming good individuals, and allowing them to be comfortable in their own setting.

“We’re very blessed to have Multicultural NSW as a partner of this program. Without them the Learning With Leek program wouldn’t be able to run the way that it does, so we’re very appreciative to them and all that they do for us” Aleer added.
